The Home To Assorted Gastronomic Delights, New York! — The Blog Story
Undoubtedly, home to assorted gastronomic delights, New York is the ultimate stop for foodies all across the globe. From cheap eats to Michelin-star restaurants, the Big Apple has an immaculate variety to offer, for instance. And, here I got an opportunity to discover and visit them all. Now, if you are looking for places that intend to soothe your taste buds with their scrumptious delicacies, I’ve rounded up a list of few celebrated ones :
Le Bernardin
One of the only six restaurants in NYC to have been awarded three coveted Michelin stars, Le Bernardin falls under the list of the elite French restaurants in the city. Especially, among those that offer refined seafood, expert service and luxurious decor. Moreover, navigated by the revered French chef, Eric Ripert, its influences are global but the cooking is underpinned by a mastery of technique. Further, the ingredients used are of unimpeachable quality and the kitchen has the confidence to present picturesque plates.
Food Rundown I Savored: Sautéed langoustine; Crispy Black Bass Yellow-fin Tuna; Foie gras and Toasted Baguette.
Jean-Georges
The fine-dining restaurant of chef Jean Georges Vongerichten which opened in 1997 offers exquisitely crafted cuisine blending French, American and Asian flavours. To elaborate, they not only dazzle your plate served with extreme precision, but, also offer a serene luxurious ambience. To conclude, being consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three stars by Michelin guide, this place was the best for I was willing to splurge.
Food Rundown I Savored: Meyer Lemon Gelee; Hamachi Sashimi; Japanese Risotto; Spice Crusted Venison and Orchard Dessert Tasting.
Eleven Madison Park
Daniel Humm’s new yet established American knockout on Madison Square Park, Eleven Madison Park, is a total ‘throw-your-budget-out-of-the-window’ indulgence. Here, a seasonal tasting menu features local ingredients with couplings from an extensive wine list proves your life to be a culinary roller-coaster ride. Now, a place not to be missed with every meal lasting for almost three hours, it has received five stars from Forbes Travel Guide, followed by four and three from the New York Times and Michelin respectively. Indeed, I had a gala time there.
Food Rundown I Savored: Tasting Menu only.
The Smile
A delightful, cosy and intimate place to be at, this subterranean cafe — The Smile — that opened in 2009 is rooted in the local community. And, true to its name, it brought a big SMILE to my face. Indeed happens to be a clubhouse of sorts which offers Mediterranean-influence breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all at acceptable prices. Further, warm lighting and charming decor are the highlights of the cafe, bringing in a hep crowd.
Food Rundown I Savored: Chicken Salad; Black Forest Ham & Gruyere; Peanut Butter & Jelly Cookie; Roasted Carrot and Kale; Maple Bacon Sliders; Manouri Cheese and Fig Jam; Caprese and many others.
Per Se
Another three Michelin starer, Per Se is Chef Thomas Keller’s second property. Truly a crowning achievement, it features a daily nine-course fabulous tasting menu using classic French-New American flavours, techniques and quality ingredients. Moreover, complementing the menu, the place has an impeccable wine list consisting of more than 2,000 bottles to follow. I received an unimpeachable service and jacket-required surrounds make it top the list of posh restaurants in NYC.
Food Rundown I Savored: Oysters and Pearls; Royal Kaluga Caviar; Hudson Valley Moulard Duck Foie Gras; Walnut-crusted Salsify Root; Charcoal-grilled Cauliflower; Carnaroli Risotto Biologico and several others.
Gramercy Tavern
When I talk about contemporary American cuisine, warm hospitality, and unparalleled service; the first name that strikes to my mind is Danny Meyer’s Gramercy Tavern. The restaurant provides you with two kinds of dining experiences, the Tavern, where you can enjoy a la cart menu in a casual, walk-in setting with a four-course tasting menu for dinner, and the Dining room that has a fixed price and tasting menu with a la cart options during lunch. Chef Michael Anthony’s distinguished set of menus are a treat to the foodies from all across the globe.
Food Rundown I Savored: Smoked Trout; Seasonal Pasta; Cookie Plate with Milk; and many others.
In the great dining city of New York, where barely a day passes without news of an exciting restaurant opening, a devastating closing, a shocking chef shuffle, or a groundbreaking and a must-try dish; I hope you to find the industry’s most classic bits-and-bites to discover the food-love-of-your-life! Exactly like I did! In love with you, NYC.
